Rationalist Questions - System of Marriage

Category: Q&A | 1 min read

This section is part of a series of questions by Shastri Munagala and Dr. Venkata Chaganti with a rationalist (name not given). In this especially, Chaganti informed that the rationalist agreed on whether marriage system is necessary. According to the rationalist, the system of marriage is an agreement born out of human evolution and may have been formed on the basis of discretion, but there is no written evidence for it.

Since Chaganti did not show rational basis, his argument has no scientific basis and it is not universal. It is stated that there is a definite basis and explanation of the system of marriage in the sacred and orthodox Vedas. The Vedic standard has been accepted by everyone in the world for thousands of years but this rationalist is only presenting a narrow view that suits him. The rationalist could not show any scientific evidence why men of the same family (siblings) should not marry. Chaganti raised questions whether the marriage system is scientific according to the rationalist or just a social norm and if so, what is its history.

Chaganti explained the purpose of the education system to the rationalist and explained that if there is no foundation, human judgment and discernment will not grow. As an example, it was explained that such a Goppa system was first mentioned in the Vedas, from which the whole world was taught the education system.

Explaining the rationalist DNA question, Chaganti explained that this modern knowledge was acquired in 1850, but many thousands of years before that, the society established the marriage system with the knowledge provided by the Vedas. Rather than being narrow-minded, rationalists should study theology from a scientific point of view and know the details, and only then should they question someone else. Bhajani has made it clear that he is the teacher of the Gurus and therefore worships God based on the Vedas in Sanatana Dharma.
